Lease tracking is one of the more difficult parts of the apartment marketing process. In the past, it often relied on faulty systems, like a guest card filled out by the new resident. That, of course, is usually better than nothing but human memory is fallible and so in many situations marketers were making important marketing choices based on bad data.
With RentStream, you can improve the lease tracking process considerably. Thanks to our tracking number system and analytics data, we can automatically identify where a lease came from. To do this, however, we need property managers to enter in the lease data whenever a new resident moves in. In this post, we'll explain how to do that.
When on the RentStream dashboard, click the Manage Leases button in the top right. This will take you to the Contact > Leases sub tab. Here you’re able to enter leases into our Lease Tracking System by inputting some basic pieces of information.
Start by clicking on the orange “Add a New Lease” button, located in the top right corner. This brings up a popup, in which you will input the information.
Select the application date and move in date, enter the monthly rent, and select your community name. Once your community name is selected you can then select the floorplan the new resident is moving into.
Next click the orange “Add a Resident” link and input the residents first & last name and all phone numbers and email addresses provided by the resident. Click the orange “Add” button once complete. Be sure to repeat this step if the new resident is moving in with a spouse or roommate.
Once you’ve entered all resident information into the system, click the orange “Submit” button and you are done!
